Hello from Sunny Sint Maartin! So far this year, the Island has hosted its most annual visitors, cruises, and airlines since 2019. American Airlines increased its daily routes from Charlotte, Philadelphia, and Miami. Sprit Airlines increased its direct route flights from Ft. Lauderdale. Frontier Airlines now offers direct flights from Puerto Rico to SXM. Delta has new direct flights from StPaul/Minneapolis to SXM. All these new flights hopefully translate to lower fares.

We are excited about the new and updated amenities we now offer. In January 2024, the resort opened 1954 Deli in the Lobby. This grab and go offers amazing coffee, smoothies, fresh squeezed juices, breakfast kesh and pastries, lunch sandwiches, fresh fruit, and various snacking items. Make a point of visiting Marlon, the proprietor, for good conversations and great eats! In April of 2024, the Atrium updated its Wi-Fi capabilities. The resort can proudly manage your WIFI work and streaming needs!

Current Projects

The Atrium is in phase one of its property updates and renovations. Between June and October 2024 rooms will receive new sliding glass doors and room upholstery (sleeper sofas)! We completed the ninth-floor rooms sliding glass door replacements last week. The eighth floor’s scheduled completion date is July 6^th. The new sliding glass doors are a welcome change from the originals that were installed with Atriums first construction. They have improved hurricane resistant ratings and tinting. The glass tinting replaces the sheer curtains. Yes, we are keeping the blackout curtains. The tinting will lower the ambient temperature of the rooms thereby lowering the Atrium’s electric and diesel consumption footprint.

The tinting will also extend the life of the new upholstery by protecting the furniture from sun-fade. Speaking of new sleeper sofas, they will all be installed between July and August of this year!

Upcoming Projects

More good news is on the way! Between November 1^st and 22^nd we will update the Atrium pools. In addition to resurfacing the pools, we will repair, clean and regrout tile work. We will install new pool railings. The pool drain return that surrounds the outside of the pool will be resurfaced to prevent leaking, and the current fiberglass grates will be replaced. To top off this renovation, we will give the pool area new pool-side furniture.

In 2025 and 2026 the resort will complete its ongoing renovations. Projects that will be addressed will probably include new tile floors, a kitchen remodel with new appliances, new bedroom furniture and beds, new blackout curtains, new doors, closet remodels, and a fresh new paint look. More details about these upcoming projects and estimated timelines will be addressed in future resort updates.
